Presque Isle – Built as an IT or Integrated Tug in 1973 by Halter Marine, New Orleans, LA. This tug is 153’3” in length, 54’ in beam, her displacement is 1,578 tons.
She is paired with self-unloading barge Presque Isle. Their combined length of 1,000 feet and beam of 104’ 7” makes her an official ‘footer’, the only ITB on the Great Lakes!
She’s powered by twin Mirrlees Blackstone Ltd. KVMR 8-cylinder engines producing 14,840 bhp turning two changeable pitch propellers.
