In the Arthurian legends of medieval Britain, Avalon is the mysterious island where King Arthur was taken after the Battle of Camlann. According to the tradition, the king did not die but was carried across the sea to be healed in the hidden isle, watched over by its guardians.

Medieval writers described Avalon as a place beyond ordinary geography — a land of orchards, mist, and sacred knowledge where the boundary between the mortal world and the unseen realm becomes uncertain.

The name Avalon is often connected to the Welsh word for apple, suggesting ancient groves and timeless landscapes. Yet within the stories it was never simply a paradise. Avalon stood at the edge of myth and reality, a place reached only by those guided through the veil.
