Top Five Reasons to Move to Jacksonville, Florida
If you’re considering moving to Jacksonville Florida and wondering if it’s the right choice for you… here are my top 5 reasons why Jacksonville is one of the best places to call home.

Beaches and Parks
At the top of the list, predictably is the beach. Jacksonville has 22 miles of sandy beaches that include Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach. Besides beaches though Jacksonville provides a multitude of opportunities for water lovers with an abundance of waterways, beaches and piers and you’re never far from a boat or kayak launch.
Maybe you love the outdoors but water is not your thing, Jacksonville offers 337 parks that span 80,000 acres and includes municipal parks, state parks, gardens and arboretums, making Jacksonville home to the most expansive urban park system in the United States.
Jacksonville is certainly not short on access to scenic outdoor activities and environments

2. Art & Music
Jacksonville is considered the birthplace of southern rock. Lynyd Skynard, 38 special and the Allman Brothers just to name a few started right here. Music and art can be found everywhere and Jacksonville host one of the biggest music festivals in the entire country… The Jacksonville Jazz Festival. It is held annually over Memorial Day weekend and takes up 15 blocks of downtown with live jazz music, local food and a lively street atmosphere….There’s also the Jacksonville Art Walk and The Riverside Arts market… both are great ways to enjoy local art galleries, pop ups as well as food and music. Festivals, shows and concerts are plentiful in Jacksonville

3. Food
For foodies Jacksonville will not disappoint. It is home to a thriving culinary scene, We have Incredible seafood… you cannot beat the quality of ocean fare here. For a real down home seafood experience check out Clarks Fish Camp. Seriously, this place is the coolest. Come by boat of car… doesn’t matter. You can feed the gators and the atmosphere here is hard to beat. Jacksonville has over 20 “farm to table restaurants” including Restaurant Orsay, Black Sheep Restaurant and Moxie Kitchen and cocktails.
Jacksonville has also become more and more vegan and vegetarian friendly over the years. There are many fantastic vegan restaurants in town like The Murray Hillbilly, Southern Roots Filling station and the Walrus are a few of my favorites but most all of the restaurants in town offer vegan and vegetarian options.

4. Employment
Jacksonville has a low unemployment rate, currently at 2.8 percent and ranks second in the state for job growth. Home to many Fortune 500 companies it’s a great city to find excellent employment especially for those in logistics, finance, hospitality and health care.
Additionally, Jacksonville has a low cost of living compared to the national average. There are no state income taxes in Florida and Jacksonville was recently named the second hottest real estate market in the Nation according to zillow . We have experienced a massive increase in people relocating here from other more expensive states like New York, California, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

5. Proximity
Jacksonville is tucked up in the north east corner of Florida. The benefit of that is it’s close proximity to other popular destinations like Orlando, St Augustine, Daytona Beach and we are within reasonable driving distance to Atlanta, Miami Beach and Key West.

Conclusion
Jacksonville is a fantastic place to live! I was born and raised here and except for the 6 years I spent in the military I have been here my entire life. There are plenty of employment opportunities, and an abundance of things to do and see year round. Because it’s such a popular city to move to real estate is in high demand. However, home ownership is still affordable. the median price range for a home is only about $301,000 and the average rent is around $1700. Whether you want to live by the ocean, on a tree lined street by the river, or a rural community near a preserve… Jacksonville has a place for you. If you have questions about Jacksonville… like I mentioned early I’m a native and I love talking about my city. If you would like more information or help buying or selling real estate in Jacksonville or anywhere in North East Florida feel free to reach out. I’m happy to help
