Enigma was a machine used by Nazi Germany during World War 2 to send secret military messages.
It was basically their ultimate communication weapon.
Everything was transmitted in coded form, and the code changed every single day at midnight.
without breaking Enigma, the Allied forces were fighting blind.
Germany knew exactly where to attack, but the Allies didn’t know:
Which cities were targeted.
Where submarines were hiding in the ocean.
When massive air raids were coming.
What secret strategies were planned.Every day, thousands were dying because of these “invisible” attacks.

Alan Turing was the mathematician who cracked the Nazi “Enigma Code” in World War 2 — a breakthrough that helped end the war years earlier and saved millions of lives. So he built the Bombe machine, a massive electromechanical device that could test thousands of Enigma combinations per second.
