The M142 HIMARS is a US manufactured MLRS system on the chassis of the FMTV 5 ton truck. It was made due to the M270 MLRS being too heavy and slow to quickly engage targets. Entered service in 2005 with over 600 units being built, and multiple countries creating similar systems based on the HIMARS technology. Armament can vary depending on the pod, but the most infamous is the ATACMS missile.
