"1944: The Loop Master" is a vertical scrolling shooter arcade game developed by Capcom in 2000, using a horizontal 4:3 screen. Unlike previous entries, this installment was programmed by 8ing/Raizing. As the fifth game in Capcom's World War II-themed 194X series, it is set during the intense battles of 1944. Players take on the roles of two ace pilots, flying the P-38 Lightning and Mitsubishi A6M Zero, attempting to defeat an entire enemy army. This game, a sequel to 19XX: The War Against Destiny, runs on the CP System II arcade cabinet.

The gameplay follows the standard shooter format, with players aiming to destroy enemy planes, tanks, trains, turrets, and battleships, culminating in a boss fight at the end of each level. Unlike its predecessor, 19XX: The War Against Destiny, 1944: The Loop Master returns to the style of the earlier games in the series.
