Build A Quick Release Hoya Trellis

Описание к видео Build A Quick Release Hoya Trellis

Quick release.

Once upon a time, there was a happy little Hoya. He was settled comfortably into his net pot with bark and sphagnum moss. He had a trellis to climb on. He had a shelf with just the right amount of bright, indirect light. Life was very good for the little Hoya.

Because he had just what he needed, he stretched out his roots and raised up his leaves. He grew tall and full. He grew fast. Within months the net pot looked like Santa’s beard with healthy white roots everywhere, and the decorative little trellis was overwhelmed with new growth. Our happy Hoya needed a new home.

But removing a happy Hoya from his trellis is no easy feat. It’s so easy to break off a leaf or snap a vine. The owner of the happy Hoya was forced to cut the trellis into small pieces with the Hoya was still entwined; a daunting and nerve-racking procedure. There had to be another way.

Enter the tied trellis. Easy to make, with either two or three uprights, it solved the major problem of moving a Hoya to new digs. A few snips of string, and the trellis comes apart easily. The vines can slide from the uprights with minimal damage, and the happy Hoya can be on his way to a new home. The trellis isn’t destroyed, because the parts are all re-usable; all you’re out is a bit of string. And our happy Hoya is happy once more.

I’ll keep you posted.
