Hungary holds several local markets for the fresh Hungarian produce of the locality. All across Budapest, you can find the market area of your districts. However, there are several popular markets to choose from, the central market will be the biggest of all.

The central market of Budapest is located in Fovem ter, which was my neighborhood for 1.5 years. I visited the market every week and got my set of fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat. My experience at the market is extremely positive and I always recommend my friends to go to the market if they are interested in something particular or fresh.

The market includes three floors: The ground floor includes vegetables, fruits, wine, cheese, meat, fresh juice, international food stores, etc. The first floor includes various souvenir stores targetting tourists. And the underground floor includes fish, pickles, and meat stores.

Pro tip: please carry cash along with you if you plan to purchase, as most of the stores do not accept cards.

Hugely popular among the tourists, there are also tour guides organized around the central market all through the year. but not the most soothing information for the locals who visit the market for the daily purchase and not for photographs.
