Emerald Bay dive site. The Jewel in Tulamben.

This site can be reached with a 10min ride by Jukung, just to the south east of Tulamben Bay. For the more adventures, this can also be a shore dive, but be aware of the fisherman in the small bay. They don’t like scuba divers swimming over their fishing lines . Basically one ‘step’ on from Batu Kelebit, with an average depth of 20m. A sloping reef, beginning in a small bay, will lead you over dramatic and beautiful ridges covered in a variety of hard coral and amazing sponge formations, eventually leading to a sandy bottom at around 50 meter.

You will find a good amount of marine animals including large pelagic fish in the deeper water. Although most of the time, the water is calm, strong currents can turn this into a drift dive. On calm days, open water divers can also enjoy this dive site since the shallower water has some impressive and healthy coral teaming with vibrant reef fish.
If you want to go for a picnic, the table and seat is close to the bay entry point and at 14m. Enjoy your picnic.
