I was looking for a new type of steadicam to use for my Geocaching videos and came across the VariZoom Stealthy. After reading some reviews and watching some videos on it, I decided to purchase one and give it a go.
My main camera is a Sony CX900 and I also have a Cacon 70D. After filming this review, I have to say I had better luck with the Stealthy while filming with the Canon 70D. Maybe the wide angle lens that I was using helped out. The Sony CX900 was OK the first time I took it out and tried. After adjusting the weights (by adding more like what I did for the Canon 70D) and rebalancing it, I took the Sony CX900 out again for a second run. I was surprised that the footage from the first run came out better than the second attempt. To be fair, there was a breeze the second time I went out and that really threw things off. Check out the footage, you'll see what I mean.
After I out this video together, I used the Stealthy while filming at a local comic convention for my cosplay videos. I will have those videos uploaded soon. I plan on practicing more with the Sony CX900 on this steadicam and hope to have better footage.
And yes... I was actually photo/videobombed by that mysterious lady when I was filming this at the local park. Guess I have to be more careful while I am out in public like this! :P
