When Bill Gates partnered with IBM and started the personal computer revolution, Linda was asked to re-design and program the front-end of every client-facing system used by a global financial institution to move them away from mainframe computing. Just 17 at the time, she became the youngest systems engineer in the history of finance and banking to design and lead a major technology change. When George Lucas founded Industrial Light and Magic to create the incredible visual effects needed for Star Wars back in 1975, Linda wrote the documentation that explained how to do it for software developers and special effects artists. And, when Steve Jobs founded NeXT after being ousted from Apple, Linda was asked to test his ideas in the customer’s engineering lab and provide feedback on its performance and opportunities for future development.
