Specific Latent Heat Song / Rap - Physics GCSE & A-Level

Описание к видео Specific Latent Heat Song / Rap - Physics GCSE & A-Level

Join us for the latest and greatest 80's detective show - The Changing of States. Two heroes (Sergeant Celcius and Detective Inspector S. L. Heat) pursue infamous criminal Jack Lines as he attempts to change states.

Terrible puns and tenuous links aside, in this GCSE/A-Level Physics revision song we talk (or rather sing and rap) about what happens to a substance's temperature and internal energy as it changes state. The main lesson here is that as a substance changes state, its temperature will remain constant for a brief period of time - even if there is still an energy change occurring! This might seem odd at first, but it's because the energy change is altering the potential energies of the particles as opposed to their kinetic energies. The internal energy will change, however the temperature will not.

We then go on to talk about the role of specific latent heat of fusion and vaporisation. We recite a definition for it and introduce the formula (Q = mL) which we can use to calculate the change in energy occurring, using the S.L.H. and the substance's mass.

You can watch my other revision videos by visiting my channel. GCSE & A-Level? Got 'em. Physics, Maths, Chemistry and much more? You bet. Straight revision as well as music and raps? How do you know all this...?

And most importantly, thank you for watching. A like and a share is always appreciated to help the channel grow.

Stay healthy and stay safe.

Peace out
