Sowing 12 rows of carrot seed on a 30inch bed (75cm) with the Johnny's Four-Pinoint Seeder from James @ www.activevista.com.au Early spring carrot sowing in my gothic tunnel after a quick covercrop of oats,rye and lupin. (Removed any residues so as not to attract slugs which has been a problem since early spring rains have arrived, (8inches) 200mm rain in last 5 days!) Made 3 passes with seeder then tamped surface to make a good soil to seed contact, watered and then covered with 70% shade cloth to germinate. Seed I sowed was Touchon from www.kingsseeds.co.nz.
