This video contains current footage of New Orleans, Oct. through Dec. 2006. Although cleanup and rebuilding is happening, residents are slow to return. Thousands of animals still wander, homeless, dependant on feeders to keep them alive in a land without food sources. TNR is in place to help control overpopulation, however without sufficient funding and volunteers, it's impossible to keep up. With increasing crime, collapsing buildings, and toxins, the city is dangerous--dangerous for the residents, for the volunteers and especially dangerous for the animals. Many animals are waiting at feeding stations when we arrive. This video, a little longer than usual, is in lower quality format to fit the youtube requirements. Anyone with high speed internet can email me requesting better quality. (I'll have limited internet access during Dec. 22-Jan.8, so I may not respond till after that period.)
