The Northern Mozambique Channel has been under threat from pollution, overfishing, and climate change — putting at risk 35% of the Indian Ocean’s coral reefs and the communities that depend on them. 
Four countries— The Comoros, Madagascar, Mozambique, and Tanzania—are joining forces to restore nearly 87,200 hectares of land and sea. Their bold plan aims to restore 4.85 million hectares by 2030, creating thousands of jobs and fighting climate change.
Restoring the Northern Mozambique Channel Region has been recognized as a World Restoration Flagship under the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
