Описание к видео Mr.Reza Khan Igbal Sultanah, (آقا رضا عکاسباشی)، (ناصرالدین شاه قاجار)، (عکاس معروف دوره قاجار)

Agha Reza Khan Iqbal-ol-Saltane (1222 AH / 1259 AH - 1263 AH / 1307 AH ), nicknamed the Special Adjutant and the Photographer , was the first professional Iranian photographer .

Agha Reza Khan Iqbal-ol-Saltanah's grandfather was Mullaba Kalymi Isfahani, and his father , Agha Ismail Jadid-ol-Islam, was a court official and a ceremonial attendant and master of ceremonies for the greeting ceremonies of Fath-Ali Shah , Mohammad Shah , and Nasir al-Din Shah, and his brother, Mirza Ali Naqi Khan Hakim- ol-Mamalek, was the Shah's personal physician. His family were Jews from Isfahan who converted to Islam during his father's time, and for this reason they took the surname Jadid-ol-Islam .

He studied photography with Frenchman Francis Carlehian and was inclined towards portrait photography . In 1280 AH, he was given the title of Photographer by Naser al-Din Shah. A building in the Golestan Palace was dedicated to the technical and artistic affairs of photography under his supervision . In 1290, he received the long title of “Special Assistant and Treasurer of the Mubarak’s Pocket.” For a while, he worked in the military and “Administration of the General Cannons of the Enclosed Countries,” and in 1301, he became “Minister of the Qorkhaneh .”

In 1302 AH, Agha Reza was given the title of "Iqbal al-Saltanah" and in 1304 AH, in addition to the Ministry of the Qorkhaneh, he was also entrusted with the regency of Fath Ali Khan, the one and a half year old son of Kamran Mirza Naib al -Saltanah, who had become the Commander of the Artillery at that age.

Agha Reza died suddenly on the 10th of Jamadi al-Thani, 1307 AH, in the garden of his private garden in Shemiran. There have been various speculations about his death, including Mohammad Ali Bamdad, the author of the book Sharh-e-Hayyah Rijal Iran , who believes that he was poisoned with Qajar coffee on the orders of Nasser al-Din Shah.

He was the first Iranian photographer to photograph the holy sites and accompanied Nasser al-Din Shah on his first and second trips to Europe .

In March 2010, thirty photographs by Reza Aksabashi were exhibited at Homa Gallery, thanks to the efforts of Arman Stepanian and Hengameh Moammari.

One of the important elements of the East is religion, which is represented by the clergy in Iran; and during the time of Agha Reza Khan, the name of Mullah Hadi Sabzevari was mentioned as the most important Islamic
scholar of his time. His life coincided with the arrival of the camera in Iran and the reign of Nasser al-Din Shah Qajar
. Agha Reza Khan, by order of the Shah, was commissioned to photograph the Iranian philosopher Hakim Sabzevari in his home during his trip to Khorasan
. Agha Reza Aksabashi, the first professional photographer in Iran and a special assistant ( special adjutant of Nasser al-Din Shah), took a photo of Mullah Hadi as ordered. Since Mullah Hadi had not seen photography until then and also considered it contrary to the law and the theological arguments of the sages of the past, he believed that such a thing was impossible. Therefore, after finishing the photography and seeing his own image, he was very surprised and finally confirmed this.
Iranian photographers have photographed most of the clergy in their teaching and living places.
The images of this group can be considered as evidence of the approval of photography by religion in Iran.
