The June Rebellion 1832, the Rising the Inspired Les Miserables

Do You Hear The People Sing? Today we will be discussing another French Revolution, not the one in 1789 that ushered in the Terror and Napoleon, or the one in 1848 that brought the permanent end to the French Monarchy. This was actually a failed Revolution that took place in June of 1832.

This Revolution is prominent in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, as well as the film and stage productions as the climax of all the stories. It is the Revolution of 1832 better known as the June Rebellion. When a group of you Republicans and Bonapartist with support of some of the working class attempted to stage another French Revolution.

Unlike the other two, this one would completely fail, and make it only a day and a half.
