Brownells Gun Tech™ Caleb Savant is charged up about today's product, the Warhammer Mod2 charging handle from Breek Arms. With a name like "Warhammer," it's gotta be good, right? It IS! There's solid engineering and excellent quality behind that cool name. Plus, a Warhammer costs about HALF the price of competing AR-15 charging handles with similar features. The Warhammer is made of 7075 T6 aluminum alloy, which is substantially stronger and less prone to flexing than the 6061 aluminum commonly used for charging handles. It's fully ambidextrous, capable of TRUE one-hand operation because grabbing either "ear" of the handle will let you scoot that first round into your AR-15's chamber. The Warhammer's ears are larger than a standard mil-spec handle's so they're easier to grasp and they'll protrude past a scope with a large ocular bell, but they're not so large they'll snag on stuff. Aggressive serrations all over the grasping surfaces cut the risk of butterfingered failures to operate the handle on the first try. A gas deflector keeps the blowback out of your face when you're shooting suppressed. Breek Arms offers the Warhammer Mod2 in two sizes: for the standard 5.56 / .223 AR-15 and for AR-308s.
