Hello, My name is Maribeth Kulynycz. I want to tell you a little bit about my journey into the traditional archery world. I was raised by an avid outdoorsman and natural resources police officer. He loved bow hunting and still does to this day. I remember growing up and seeing him walk out the door with that recurve bow in-hand and it just seemed like he was some kind of super hero — like he was 'Robinhood' out there chasing these deer. It inspired me to want to bow hunt more than anything.

I started hunting when I was nine and progressively entered the bow hunting world. Once I did, I was like —'this is a challenge like no other'! I loved being able to give the deer a chance to use their instincts (their noses, their eyes, their ears) to get the better of me. When I did succeed, I knew that I had used everything that I had to do that.

A few years back, a friend of mine bought me this amazing Blacktail bow and my journey truly changed. I had shot for about 3-4 years prior to, but once I got this bow in hand, I knew it was time to make the switch (from compound to traditional). I never have been happier than I am when I have this bow in hand. It was a connection like I had never felt before to any other weapon. Holding this bow was not just connecting me to nature and to the animals — it connected me to all of those people who walked the woods before me (my ancestors, my Dad, the natives). I mean, this was a weapon that was so pure and so simple — it just spoke to me instantly. Since then, I have been blessed to take this bow to Texas where I got my very first hog! Sitting in that stand after letting that very first arrow fly was a feeling like I can never fully describe. The emotions that washed over me (still to this day) just choke me up.

Since then, I've taken (4) more pigs, a beautiful buck last year and a Sika Hind this year. I have no desire to take any other weapon into the woods than this one right here (Blacktail T2 Sitka TD recurve). It is so beautifully made! I call her 'Amethyst. As you can see, the beautiful craftsmanship of this bow is just 'out of this world'! The way that it fits into my hand, I mean it's a dream. It just feels like it was made for me.

I am eternally grateful for my hunting mentor who brought me into this (traditional archery) world, for my Dad who brought me into the hunting world in general and for Blacktail Bows for making this absolutely gorgeous piece of equipment that I get to call my own. My life has forever changed because of a little purple bow and a beautiful purple arrow. :)
