Описание к видео Rueng Lao Chao Nee (Channel 3 Thailand) - National Anthem & Commercial Break (07.10.2025)

Copyright (c) 2025 BEC Multimedia Company Limited

Recorded at around 09:00 am (ICT) local time in Thailand, during the morning news program "Rueng Lao Chao Nee" ('The Story this Morning').

As practiced by laws in Thailand, radio and television stations nationwide play out the "Phleng Chat Thai", the country's national anthem. By this decree, Thais must stop what they are doing and stand at attention to pay homage to the anthem that was played out over loudspeakers in the streets, and even on all TV and radio outlets across the country, twice a day, at around 08:00 am and again at around 06:00 pm.

Operated by the BEC Multimedia Co. Ltd., which is a subsidiary of the publicly traded company BEC World, Channel 3 is a prominent Thai television network that was the country's second commercial TV station, and the first to be broadcasted in full color.

It all began when Bangkok Entertainment Co. Ltd. (BEC) was founded on 10 November 1967 by the Maleenont family, which joined hands with government agencies in operating a 625-line color TV station under a joint investment agreement submitted on 3 December 1967, and they entered into an agreement with Thai Television Co., Ltd. on 4 March 1968.

During its initial stage, Channel 3 covered only Bangkok and 18 nearby provinces, which accounts 20.64% of the entire country. The service went on trial broadcasts on 11 January 1970, just before it goes fully operational on 15 March, and then eventually launching on 26 March.

In 1977, the Thai Cabinet passed a resolution to shut down the Thai Television Co., Ltd. and replace it with the state-owned Mass Communication Organization of Thailand (MCOT), which was to be established under a royal decree from 9 April onwards. This caused BEC to become a counterparty of MCOT.

On 16 July 1987, Channel 3 established a joint broadcasting equipment agreement with MCOT's Channel 9 to expand the station's signal reach to a nationwide scale by 1992. With this contract, the license was now renewed from 1990, for a period of 30 years. The expansion project took place between 1988 and 1989 and was carried out in phases.

In Channel 3's early years, programs were mostly TV series or long films with live dubbing. At that time, two sets of Telescene were installed along with 16-mm and 35-mm projectors and a slide projector. It was in 1976 that the network improved its drama presentation quality by not telling character lines during presentation, enforcing rehearsals and recording tape of the show before it is on air; this adjustment firstly began with the drama series “Fai Pai”. The purpose is to allow continuous broadcasting of the show throughout the entire week, which is different from live show trends at that time which were on air only once a month.

Today, Channel 3 offers a wide range of original content, ranging from Lakorn (Thai soap operas) series such as 2023's "To The Moon and Back" and 2018's "Love Destiny", as well as BL (Boys' Love) dramas like "Lovely Writer: The Series".

The partnership between Channel 3 and MCOT lasted for 50 years until its joint contract had lapsed in March 2020, which coincides with Thailand's switchover to digital terrestrial television. Following the expiry, Channel 3 returned all of their analog transmission equipment to MCOT, as the condition indicated in the contract.
