Radiant Red Camaro ZL1 Receives Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra "Black" Package and Highway Package PPF

This 2024 Camaro ZL1 may one of the last big motor giants we see, with Chevrolet ending production of this generation. It is finished in an amazing Radiant Red Tintcoat and looked absolutely amazing out in the sun once all of our work was completed, even the video doesnt do it justice. The depth is unreal.

The first step to this job is to eliminate any contaminants that may be bonded to the surface. Even though the car is brand new, they still pick up contaminants, most commonly in the form of rail dust. The metal dust particles bond themselves to the paint, leaving a rough and uneven surface. This must be removed prior to any paint protection film being applied to the vehicles paint. Even a single spec of dirt or sand will become very obvious underneath the film and the install will not look as clean or "invisible". To ensure the best possible install, we use a two part decontamination process, the initial step is via chemical during our wash process and the second is manually with a clay bar by hand.

Once the surface is perfectly clean and smooth, we can begin apply the paint protection film to all of the desired surfaces. The owner of this ZL1 opted for what we call a "track package" or "highway package", which includes the entire front 1/3 of the car, lower doors, lower rockers, a large tear off on the rear quarter panel and rear impacts behind the rear wheels. This gives coverage in all of the major high impact areas and will let the owner drive the car without the worry of get sand blasted or damage from small road debris.

Once we the PPF is applied to the desired areas, we can begin to clean and prepare the rest of the vehicle for polishing. This particular car did not have any major defects, but it did have some light marring just from being handled throughout the delivery process. So we performed a two step paint correction on it to get the results and expectation that was set with the owner upon drop off. This car is mostly a garage kept weekend cruiser, so the owner wanted the best possible paint finish. Once we have the desired results with the paint correction stage, we can begin the ceramic coating process. We use an alcohol spray to remove any remaining oils or slips solutions from the install.

As usual, we will be applying the Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra "Black" Package to this Camaro ZL1. This includes a base layer of Crystal Serum Ultra, followed with EXOv5 on all of the exterior surfaces. We also applied a combination of these coatings on the door jambs, trunk plastics, interior carbon, etc. We also performed our wheels off detail and ceramic coating package, to make life easier. Cleaning these wheels can be a chore, but it is a much more enjoyable experience when they are ceramic coated! By removing the wheels from the vehicle, it allows us to clean the wheel spokes and inner barrels thoroughly. We applied Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra and EXOv5 to the entire wheel, inside and out, as well as the brake calipers and plastic fender liners. This gives that extra pop on presentation and makes cleaning these surfaces much easier for the person caring for the car.

To give the occupants some added privacy and keep them cool, we chose to use XPEL Prime Plus XR 15% on the side windows and clear on the windshield. This will help protect the interior with UV protection and offers the occupants unmatched heat rejection since it is a Infrared film.
