A break from the routine today when we visit Mount Rushmore in South Dakota.
But today is more than just a visit to mount Rushmore because we're also going to make the loop around to the crazy horse memorial. Then it's on to Custer state park where we encounter a buffalo and then finally to close the loop will take the needles highway back towards Deadwood South Dakota where were staying at the whistler gulch RV Park.

Mount Rushmore is one of America's most visited national monuments and for good reason. It's a pretty amazing place and we were there early on a Friday morning when there were very few visitors there and able to get some magnificent photos and video of the area.

So while we are here in the black hills of South Dakota it would be a shame to not go visit the crazy horse memorial. We do that in this video and take the $6.00 bus ride to tour the monument. It was really neat because you could get up close and personal with the carving. Also in the visitor center you can take a piece of the mountain home with you.

From the crazy horse memorial we had done to Custer state park hoping to encounter some buffalo, and we did, quite a few as a matter of fact.

Then it's off to the needles highway which is in amazing highway with three very narrow tunnels, iron creek tunnel, the needles eye tunnel, and the hall tunnel, and thousands of vertical feet to climb and descend as you make your way towards hill city South Dakota.
