In this video we discuss how to quickly copy and paste cells, and formulas in cells, using the keyboard shortcut keys, in excel. We go through a detailed example, within a workbook and to a different workbook

The shortcut key to copy in excel is to hold down the control button and hit the C key. As an example, here I have a monthly car payment calculator, with this large formula in cell B10. To copy this, I will left click and hold over cell A1 and drag over the last cell I want copied, cell B10, so all of this is highlighted.

From here, I will hold down the control key and hit the c key, you can see this moving line around the cells. Next, I will left click where I want this copied, say cell e1, and then to paste it, I will again hold down the control key and hit the V key. And now the cells and formulas have been copied.

I will then widen column E, and it is complete.

One note, this will also work for copying to another worksheet or workbook, as you see I am doing here.

And if you want the column widths copied, right after you have copied the cells with control V, , hold down control plus alt and hit v, and a paste special box will appear, in here you can click on column widths, then click on ok, and now the widths have also been copied.
