Hello everyone, I am Emily. The movements I played in my oboe recital (11/17/2024) are Folk Songs by Grieg, arranged by Frank Erickson.
The author Edvard Grieg was a significant figure in Norwegian folk music. He played a crucial role in popularizing Norwegian music and helped solidify the country's cultural identity.
Movement 1 is titled "Ungersvennen," which translates to "The Childhood Friend" in English. Movement 2 is called "Resiselat," meaning "resealed."
I identified these titles by watching a video of Grieg's folk songs performed on the cello with a piano accompaniment. I hope you enjoy.
