Certaldo in the Florentine Val d'Elsa overlooks a land rich in history and natural beauty. Its old part, called Certaldo Alta, maintains all the charm of a medieval village and is certainly one of the most evocative historic villages in Tuscany. The old town is located on a hill, is in full medieval style and is beautifully preserved: a set of streets and houses perfectly maintained as in the Middle Ages with red bricks, towers and buildings that surround the monuments of Certaldo.
The whole village is closed to traffic and can be reached also via a funicular. Numerous events take place here throughout the year and allow you to relive the magical atmosphere of bygone times.
