Next Level Neural Amp Modeler: Oversampling, Skins, Dual Amp Blocks, FX Chains & more...

At the end of 2022 I did a Reaper tutorial on using the new free Neural Amp Modeler (NAM). It is now April 2023, and since then a lot has changed: the Facebook group has shot up from under 100 members to over 7000; new amp profiles (or captures) are being added almost every day; and numerous updates and improvements have been made, and continue to be made.

In this video I show off some of the more recent developments, both from it's creator Steven Atkinson, and from other developers who have downloaded the source code from GitHub to add on their own ideas. I also look at some design ideas users have put forward for an improved GUI/Interface, give some examples of how the NAM technology has been incorporated into physical pedals, and elaborate on such suggestions for future improvements, as dual amp and cab blocks, oversampling, skins, and modifiable FX chains. I also show how, in the meantime, Reaper - or most other DAWs - can be used to easily add this extra functionaly to NAM, and then save it within easily retievable FX Chains and Track Templates.
