The rapid uptake of mass timber requires a new approach from estimators and quantity surveyors. Traditional $/m2 rates are not suitable as up front metrics when considering mass timber vs traditional methods of construction. This presentation shall highlight the process utilized by mass timber fabricators to engage at all stages of a project (feasibility to construction) and the methods used to derive the most efficient cost structure.
