From BUSAN X the SKY, the coastline spreads out below—Haeundae Beach, the green curve of Dongbaek Park, and the distant span of Gwangan Bridge along the horizon.

We began our walk at Haeundae Beach near The Westin Josun Busan and followed the coastline clockwise. In the distance, three supertall skyscrapers—including the tower that houses BUSAN X the SKY—rose prominently above the shoreline.

As you follow the coastal wooden boardwalk where the lush woods of Dongbaekseom meet the sea, you’ll find her: a bronze figure seated atop a jagged sea rock. Known as the Princess Hwangok Statue, she gazes eternally out toward the horizon, her tail curled against the stone and a magical marble held in her hand. The statue serves as a bridge between the city’s modern skyline and its ancient seafaring myths.

The stroll along the shoreline was effortlessly peaceful, thanks to the smooth, well-paved trails that wind along the coast. With the rhythmic sound of the waves and the sweeping ocean views, the entire atmosphere felt incredibly soothing. As we made our way around Dongbaekseom, we shared the path with local residents out for their morning jog.

Midway through the hike, we arrived at a striking white lighthouse, a naturally photogenic point along the trail. From its platform,  were treated to a beautiful vista of the Nurimaru APEC House sitting right at the water's edge, while the majestic Gwangan Bridge sparkled in the far distance.

After hiking a bit farther, we eventually looped back to Haeundae Beach, where most of the tourists were gathered. From the shoreline, we spotted two additional statues and more of the tall skyscrapers lining the coast.

In total, we spent about two hours walking the route from the beach to Dongbaek Park and back again, and then wandered leisurely along the sand for another half hour.
