GRIFFIN is a cutting-edge aerial robot developed under the European Research Council (ERC) program. Led by Professor Ángel Ollero and managed by the GRVC Robotics Laboratory at the University of Seville, the project aims to create an autonomous ornithopter that mimics the flight and grasping abilities of large birds of prey.

With flexible wings, advanced sensors, and onboard AI, GRIFFIN can glide, perch, and snatch objects mid-air without landing. Between January 2020 and January 2021, the team achieved major milestones like mid-air cargo pickup and precision perching.

Collaborators include the University of Seville, TU Delft, and the University of Pisa. The GRIFFIN project is revolutionizing aerial robotics for use in search-and-rescue, environmental monitoring, and even space operations.
