“Fly Away" is about the desire to break a maddening cycle of hopelessness and monotony in life and love, and finally being able to break free (“fly away”) from those metaphorical “chains”. This song attempts to instill hope that circumstances will improve, as long as you stay determined and persevere. The one thing that stays constant in this life is that nothing lasts forever, even the most atrocious situations. “When one door closes, another opens.”
