Camping Stove Shootout ~ Propane vs. Emberlit Titanium & Alcohol

Today I will compare 3 of my of my portable camping stoves. Two of my favorites are the propane camping stove and also the Emberlit Titanium Wood Stove and the Trangia alcohol Stove. I like to use my Trangia Stove with my Emberlit Stove. They work great together. In an effort to reduce weight in my backpack while hiking & camping, I decided to do a little portable camping stove comparison of my two favorite camping stoves. A propane/butane stove vs. my Emberlit Titanium and Trangia Stove. I like both stoves. I like the propane stove because it's so easy, fast & convenient. I like to use my Emberlit Titanium stove along with my Trangia alcohol stove because it will burn alcohol or I can use the Emberlit as a wood stove and nevver have to worry about fuel while I'm in the woods. In this camp stove shootout, I was surprised to see they both weigh almost the same. The propane brought the water to boil much quicker. If you run out of propane in the woods you are just out of luck. With the Trangia stove, using alcohol as your fuel, you just need to bring enough fuel for your trip. If you run out of alcohol, you have a small wood stove for cooking and also heat from wood. In my opinion, the Emberlit & alcohol combination serves the most useful purposes. It will pack in your backpack a little less bulky.
