Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is the main routing protocol used in the Internet, interconnecting large autonomous systems around the world. But what may be a bit less known is that BGP is also the most common routing protocol used inside of the data centers, including Kubernetes clusters.

In this talk, Rastislav will delve into BGP use-cases in Kubernetes within on-premises and cloud environments. He will also showcase how BGP can be configured in Kubernetes clusters with Cilium’s own BGP Control Plane.

Additionally, he will also introduce the upcoming Cilium BGP 2.0 API which will make BGP configuration in Kubernetes even more flexible and Kubernetes-native.
