In this episode of The Wild Report, we'll get up close and personal with one of the strangest and most secretive amphibians on the planet: the three toed amphiuma! Growing up to four feet long, these are the longest salamanders in North America, but finding one in the wild can be quite a challenge. Unfortunately, water quality degradation and habitat destruction are causing major problems for amphiuma populations in most areas.
