Sorry, so sorry, really sorry. This word seems almost integral to the vocabulary of women of every age. Our incessant need to always apologise for things that are our fault but also often are not, may indicate bigger problems. Does this stem from internalized societal norms taught to young girls, or a history of punishing women for speaking their minds? Does the fact that even billionaire Taylor Swift (and other powerful women like CEOS) feel the need to overapologize, signal that even when we are in positions of power we can't help but display these markers that minimize us? Or perhaps, is this habit something that should be adopted by everyone in order for us to exist together peacefully? Also, how does this affect us in other avenues of our lives? Join me as I explore my own relationship with overapologising, and these questions when I ask, "why can't women stop saying sorry??"

NOTE: I included a study from Frontier Psychology in this video even though its publisher Frontier Media, is considered controversial and a “potential, possible or probable predator publisher” by library scientist, Jeffrey Beall. I did this because the study that caused it to be considered as so had to do with conflating climate deniers with conspiracy theorists (which the study I mentioned is not related to) and was retracted by Frontier Media. Frontier Pyschology is also a peer reviewed publisher and is also still considered a legit source by COPE and OASPA; which both continue to allow it to have membership of their organizations.
