In this episode I connect with a paramedic. She is and has been working as one for over a decade. She has seen and been a part of many traumatic calls. Some including the loss of life. While these calls are yes tragic, they all to often leave an impact with those that serve so selflessly. She reflects and shares her story into some of the traumatic calls she experienced and what the impact was like as a Paramedic to her mental health.

We also get an opportunity to hear a story of someone who came close to being diagnosed with PTSD; however, was able to get the help she needed to avoid an official diagnosis. Despite the symptoms that occurred prior to being diagnosed we get an opportunity to hear how her mental health began to decline and what she now notices as behavioural issues or patterns as the struggle with trauma and stress started to manifest itself.

We also get an opportunity to hear how as a paramedic, this amazing guest, began to heal while continuing to work as a paramedic.

She shares her incredible story and the sacrifices that were made that began to make her unwell, but also how she learned to find balance and ultimately stay healthy. Thank you to all of our Paramedics!
