Now the Wall Street Journal obtained leaked insider research into how the metaverse is going a year after the launch and rebranding….and…ehhh well…Houston we’ve got some problems.

Mark Zuckerburg launched the metaverse as a way to diversify Facebook’s earnings away from relying on just ad revenue. It comes after Apple implemented new privacy controls that made it harder for Facebook to target ads to users as precisely. Facebook’s Achilles heal is that it’s accessed through apple and android devices…this means they never have complete control over the user data they need for their ad targeting, making them vulnerable to apple and android privacy rules and features.
