Bulbulik

On our recent trip to Hunza, we had the pleasure of visiting Bulbulik​ music school in Gulmit. It is an initiative of Gulmit Educational and Social Welfare Society to preserve and promote the rich Wakhi/Pamirian music.These guys are doing such an amazing job at making Hunza even more awesome than it already is.

Shehryar, the guy on the drums manages the day to day operations of the school. Azharuddin, who charmed us with his beautiful voice is the lead vocalist in most of the songs released by Musical Band Gulmit - MBG​, an offshoot of Bulbulik. The boy who is playing Rubab is also a student at Bulbulik, and has become such a pro at using this instrument in just a few months. Love the amazing energy and traditional dance moves of Sarfaraz (training to be a pilot), Murad (social worker) and Kamran (restaurant manager), who are all local residents of Hunza.

These guys have been getting a lot of press coverage for all the right reasons, and have been featured on Patari​ and a few other platforms. They have also been traveling all over the globe to spread their awesomeness and make Pakistan proud.
