Salman and Atlee's next film has been cancelled for now due to casting issues. “When the casting of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth did not work out, Atlee was looking to cast Will Smith in the film. Salman helped Atlee connect with Will Smith and the talks were moving in a very positive direction. But the twist in the tale came when Sun Pictures demanded the presence of a South superstar in the film alongside Salman.

Sun Pictures is very firm about its stance of being the biggest production house making films with South superstars. The source told Bollywood Hungama in an exclusive interview, “When the talks with Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan fell through, Sun Pictures did not want to associate itself with an international film without South stars. That's when they asked Atlee to put things on hold and work again.
