Pitching Your Graphic Novel [OceanCon 2021]

Pitching to comic publishers may feel like an intimidating task, but this workshop will help you understand what exactly goes into pitching a graphic novel and what agents, editors, and publishers want to see in your pitch.

Akira Brown is an editor, comic writer, and publisher. After graduating from Savannah College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Sequential Art, they founded WildStar Press, an indie comics publisher geared towards uplifting the voices of diverse and marginalized creators. Their personal goal was and still is to spread stories across the globe, sharing a message that's not only positive but one relatable to the minority in an effort to push that representation does in fact matter.
