Why do we adventure?

The question of why I choose to play RPGs with such fervor and dedication occupied my mind one day so I decided to try to sort things out a bit.
Maybe you can relate, maybe you can't.
Maybe I summed things up well, maybe I left out some stuff or had some takes you disagree with.
