When SAP Business One is used to create sales orders that will subsequently be shipped via UPS, the integration between SAP and Worldship can be managed using Boyum and SAP functions. Worldship allows extraction of data from a SQL database via a SQL 'View'. Mascidon has created a SQL view in the SAP B1 database for use by Worldship.
Within Worldship, the user enters a shipper number from the paperwork for orders being pulled for shipment. The sales order number calls the SQL view and the customer and order information is automatically imported into Worldship - increasing user efficiency and reducing transcription errors.
When Worldship completes the labelling process, the customer is emailed the UPS information. In addition, Worldship creates a SQL record(s) in the UPSTracking table with the tracking numbers, UPS charges and a flag to inidcate who is responsible for paying UPS.
When the delivery order is created from the sales order within SAP Business One, the freight charges - if your company is responsible, and the tracking numbers are added to the delivery order.
The SAP user can double click on the tracking number to directly access the UPS Web site.
