Genetic determinants of enhanced von Willebrand factor clearance in VWD

Описание к видео Genetic determinants of enhanced von Willebrand factor clearance in VWD

In this video, Omid Seidizadeh, MSc, PhD candidate, University of Milan, Milan, Italy, shares the findings of a study investigating the genetic basis and mutational variants associated with enhanced clearance of the von Willebrand factor (VWF) from plasma in von Willebrand disease (VWD). Enhanced VWF clearance, measured by an elevated VWF propeptide to VWF antigen ratio, is common in patients with type 2 VWD and can also occur in patients with type 1 VWD. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), held in Montréal, Canada.
