In this video I explain how I throw the rectangular plates on the wheel. You may use a slab technique to make a rectangular plate. I used to use that technique also. When I make long plates, I felt I want to add something more interesting character in the plate. When I found this way to make a rectangular plate I was so excited and made a lots of them.
