Poké Jobs
These are extra curricular jobs made for Pokémon to do (and replace the Poké Pelago feature from Gen VII). Send different Pokémon to different jobs to receive rewards.
Doing jobs is a very good way to level grind other members not active in the main party. If you can deploy Pokémon that fit the job's description better, they'll gain better results.
You can choose just how long you want to send Pokémon to work; from a little being the minimum to all the way to a whole day being the maximum.
While standard training may be faster in the long run, it's ideal to use the jobs for when you're not playing the game or when you have an absurd amount of Pokémon to train.
As you clear some jobs and you gain more badges, more jobs will open up.

Incenses
At the local stalls, you can buy incenses. These are needed for certain Pokémon to hold before leaving them at the daycare (provided they're female or you have a Ditto for a male to hold the incense) to get pre-evolutions. Give the respective incenses to the only Pokémon they need to get some pre-evolutions. For example, giving the Lax Incense to a Snorlax will produce a Munchlax.
The incenses also can work as other hold items. The Luck Incense is something you should invest, since it can double prize money from beating trainers when the holder participates in battle.

Pick that Electroweb TM behind the lighthouse. It may come in handy for a Bug-type that can learn it.
