Darien's deepest desire is to raise his flighty daugther Zelda right, which pushed him to leave his traditional witch-hovel home and settle into a battered down house in suburbia. Now that they are here will Zelda be able to make friends and grow up happily, especially considering her habit of constantly playing fairy tricks on people? And what about Darien? Will he be able to find someone who can put up with his supernatural family and formal quirks - or is his life destined to be a lonely one of potions, eye of newt, and communicating with the family familiar Soot?
