On Wednesday, King Charles formally launched the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Birmingham.
During his visit, the monarch spoke with medical experts, volunteers, and patients in the facility's 4,000-square-meter enclosed "Winter Garden."
While conversing with 85-year-old patient Jacqueline Page, King Charles cracked a joke: "Well this is the awful problem, as I'm learning already, bits don't work very well, do they? "Once you pass 70."
Charles, who is now receiving treatment after being diagnosed with an unidentified kind of cancer in February 2024, has maintained his public profile.
Buckingham Palace has stated that his treatment would continue until 2025 and is apparently well-managed and progressing satisfactorily.
He was temporarily hospitalised in March 2025 owing to treatment-related adverse effects, but he recovered rapidly.
In a rare health update in July, the King informed a fan that he's "feeling a lot better now," describing the incident as "just one of those things."
Despite his treatment, the 76-year-old has continued to perform royal obligations.
