In a talk titled "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives" Gregory Leeson, author, podcaster, speaker, TED Talk nominee and founder of The Life Chronicler Project shares about his continent-spanning research that's taken him to 53 cities, 39 states, D.C. and eight provinces over 14 months.

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, Greg studied at Acadia University in Nova Scotia and The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, from which he earned a degree in economics. Following a brief investment banking career in Canada, he found his way to Chicago as a bond trader at The Chicago Board of Trade.

After relinquishing his seat on the exchange, he languished in the hinterland for four years before meeting a gentleman who would become his business partner. His second career involved writing database driven business applications as a self-taught software engineer.
Over the next eight years, he and his partner consulted for several corporations including Quaker Oats, Sears, and Abbott Laboratories. Eventually, he sold the business to his partner after accepting a full-time job in big pharma with Abbott in 1997.

His third career evolved into Project Management at Abbott, Hospira (an Abbott spinoff), and Pfizer which acquired Hospira in 2015. He retired from Pfizer in 2021 as a Senior Manager of Strategy and Operations in R&D.

Now that he has grown up, he set his sights on writing a book entitled, “Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives: Stories from The Life Chronicler.” This continent-spanning research will take him to 53 cities, 39 states, D.C., and eight provinces over a period of 14 months.

He became an American citizen in August 2021 and now holds dual citizenship (Canada).
