This video is a continuation of cold starting problem of my Onan DJC that I had a week ago in near 0 degree F temperatures. The cold snap started 3 weeks ago and lasted a full 2 weeks and was said to be the coldest and longest period that we had in New Jersey in over 20 years. When my Onan DJC failed to start, I had to determine if the problem was the battery or the genset (maybe both). I decided to close the door to my generator room and deal with the problem when it gets a little warmer since I have about a dozen backup gensets which was tested in these temperatures and worked well.

It is about a week later and the temperature is about 35 degrees F which is much warmer when compared to 0 degrees F. I did absolutely nothing to the DJC or the battery since the time the DJC failed to start in the sub-freezing . The battery is on a trickle charger which it has always been. Let's see if the DJC will start today without doing anything to it.
