Ingredients

Idly rice - 2 cups
Bengal gram - 2 table spoon
Red chillies - 5 or 6
Soak separately in water for 2 hours

Grind the rice to fine paste
Crushed pepper corn -1/2 tea spoon
Cumin seeds -1 tea spoon
Soaked Bengal gram

Grind the soaked red chillies with two garlic cloves to medium coarse paste and add

Asafetida -1/4 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Chopped curry leaves
Mix all together without lumps
Butter 1 table spoon, mix well to the dough prepared

On Dry cotton towel spread small lemon size dough to a thin thattai
Heat oil on medium flame and fry the thattais
This method is for crispy & puffy thattais

Must fry second time for crispy thattais

Apply oil on a plastic sheet and place small lemon size dough & press with a flat bottom vessel.
spread evenly for thin thattai.

with a fork make tiny holes on the thattai.

Heat oil on medium flame and fry the thattais
This method is for crispy flat thattais

Must fry second time for crispy thattais
