Bengaluru, December 14: Bengalureans were treated to a heart-warming festive spectacle on Sunday evening as Santa Clauses on motorcycles and jeeps rolled through the city, spreading Christmas cheer with a powerful social message. The Christmas-themed event, “Santa Ride & Drive,” brought smiles to many faces while supporting the education of specially-abled children.

The rally was jointly organised by Sparsh Foundation, Hasirotsava Forum and Sudaya Foundation, and featured over 60 festively decorated motorcycles and jeeps. Dressed as Santa Claus, participants rode from Sourberry Hotel on Residency Road to Holiday Inn on Race Course Road, attracting applause and curiosity from passersby.

Flagging off the event, Arathi from Hasirotsava Forum said the initiative reflected the true spirit of Christmas. Organisers has always believed in spreading joy with purpose. Through events like this, we aim to bring happiness to specially-abled children while reminding society that inclusion and compassion must be celebrated every day,” she said.

Gayatri from Sparsh Foundation highlighted the organisation’s continued commitment to children with special needs. “At Sparsh, we run several programmes focused on education, therapy and overall development of specially-abled children. This Santa Ride is not just a celebration, but a way to raise awareness and encourage the community to support these children meaningfully,” she said.

Echoing the sentiment, Dr. Divya Rangenahalli of Sudaya Foundation emphasised the importance of collective responsibility. “Every specially-abled child deserves access to quality education and care. When organisations and citizens come together like this, it sends a strong message that these children are not alone and that society stands with them,” she said.

Combining festive celebrations with a strong social cause, the rally turned Bengaluru’s streets into a moving celebration of compassion, hope and inclusion—reinforcing the message that the joy of Christmas lies in giving and supporting those in need.
